Some Giveaways to Brighten Your Monday

No doubt Mondays are a bummer, and this one has totally sucked the life out of me. What restored a little bit of that life to me today was finding out about two amazing giveaways going on this week!

First up is ROS from Cincinnati Prep. In honor of him reaching his 100th post, he's giving away a koozie from either Vineyard Vines or Lilly Pulitzer. You pick! You also pick the design and color!

And just in time for Spring Break!

The only bad thing about this giveaway is that the winner will have a hard time choosing what koozie they want. They're all so adorable! Enter here.

Next up is Cat from Perpetual Perfection! She's giving away a monogrammed waffle robe from The Monogram Shop.

Even if you don't win this giveaway, you should go and buy yourself one because cute bath robes are definitely a must-have! You can enter the giveaway here!

While you're busy entering the giveaways, check out both of their blogs! They're two of my favorites! I promise you won't be disappointed.

Guilty Pleasures

I feel like most of the things I love are just really bad for me, such as...

Shamrock Shakes

The Internet and everything it enables me to do (i.e. online shopping, Facebook, etc)

Celebrity Magazines

TFM & TSM - they're just too funny

Angry Birds

Playing Hooky

My Crackberry Blackberry

I probably should be focusing on more productive and healthy things, but to be honest, I'd rather enjoy my life and die a few years earlier than live a long but miserable one. Is that bad? What guilty pleasures do y'all have?

Music is the Second Best Medicine

"Music is what feelings sound like." - Unkown

I've been so sick lately. (That's the reason why I haven't posted in quite a while.) But, music always makes me feel better regardless of whether I'm sick or not! I only say that it's the second best medicine, because for me at least, laughter will always be first. Today, I've been listening to a couple of artists on repeat, while I lay in bed being sick.
Liv Miraldi

Liv is one of my best friends who is currently trying to break into the music industry! She's a total sweetheart, and her music is so good (and I'm not just saying that because I love her!). Follow her on Facebook and buy her song on iTunes! She's adorable, and I guarantee you will love her.

Liv's first single: Broken Promises

Noah and the Whale

Every time I tell someone about them, the first thing they say is "Woah, woah, hey now, it wasn't a whale, it was a big fish". To this I respond, "Woah, woah, hey now, it's NOAH, not JONAH". Everyone just assumes that they took their name from the story in The Bible about Jonah and the big fish, but they actually took it from the movie, The Squid & the Whale directed by NOAH Baumbach. Trivia for the day! Sorry, I just think it's funny!

Anyways, I lovelovelove them! Their music will put you in the mood for Spring & Summer, plus they're kinda eye candy. I mean, look at how cute and preppy they all are.

Five Years Time - I love the allusion to The Royal Tenenbaums

First Day of Spring - in honor of Spring starting on the 21st!

I plan on taking a personal day tomorrow simply to scrutinize everyone's outfits and replay the night on my DVR.

Snowpocalypse Part II

I know I've been MIA for the past few days, but it was because the second round of the SNOWPOCALYPSE hit Cleveland. I thought it was all over when the groundhog didn't see his shadow, the temperature rose to 50, and all of the snow melted. Boy, was I wrong!

On Monday it rained and rained and rained, then all of a sudden the temperature dropped. Everything froze, including the trees. The weight of the ice was too heavy for the trees. I couldn't even count how many trees fell, and there went the power. Let's just say winter without power is not so much fun.

This is literally what all of the trees looked like. It was so pretty (but not worth the power outage)!

The Cleveland Lighthouse! This is seriously so cool to see in the winter!

It doesn't end there though. As the week progressed, the weather cleared up, and the power came back on. (Thank God!) By Thursday it seemed like the weather was looking up again, but last night it snowed so much.   That meant SNOWDAY though, so I have no complaints!

This is probably going to be the rest of my day! Not planning on driving anytime soon.

The snow has not stopped all morning, and it's pretty heavy. So, if I'm gone again its probably because I got caught in SNOWPOCALYPSE PART III.
